Cuzzie Wuzzie Bonding

It's really scary what happens to family and friends over the years, Like when I was growing up my Dad used to talk about how he was so close to his cousins when they were kids they even made a mini film together.  My Dad's Dad was the Producer and Film maker, sadly I never got to meet him but from what i have heard he had a really creative mind he loved inventing stuff, He even went to university to study science during a time when no one in Ireland went to university, and most people hadn't even completed secondary school. He really could of been something with that brilliant mind of his. But alas it wasn't to be. As the head of the family he had to much pressure put on him to soon.

Despite hearing about all these memories about my dad and his cousins he never hears from them now unless its a death in the family, and to be honest with me and my cousins a similar pattern has already starting to develop. For example when we were younger we used to see my cousins James and Paul every Friday and had loads of fun together. but as we grew older that all stopped. and we started only seeing each other at christmas time. and lately I have only seen those two cousins and the rest of my cousins at funerals. Is history repeating itself?

Anyway one of my aunts noticed this and decided that she would have a cousins party :) so that we could all get together in a more happier atmosphere.I thought it was all talk until i got a call this week to say it was happening.

So yesterday me and my brother got a bus to my aunts, and of course not all the cousins showed up i only have 6 cousins on my Dads side i don't have any. We had a lovely meal with yummy desserts. Rocky Road and Brownies :)

After the meal we decided to play a game of Monopoly The Simpsons addition! for old times sake and surprisingly it was a great laugh and we all left at about 10.30 ! It was a great night and i hope we all can continue to stay close like this in the future.
 My Sis, Gavin, my Bro
Gavin, James, My bro, my sis head lol
The Monopoly King,

On the way back me, my sister and brother were discussing all the cousins personalities and came up with a few roles.

The Leader,

My brother, in the past it was always my cousin James who would take the lead in organizing the games to play like hide and seek in the dark. Tying us all to a chair one time so my aunt couldn't bring us to mass! but nowadays he is much more mellow. So my brother has seemingly taken over this role with suggesting we play monopoly rather than all just heading home after the food.

The Sheep

My cousin James was nicknamed the sheep as he seems to go with the flow and follow whatever is going on.

The Funny one,

My cousin Stephen is always the life and soul of the party and full of fun so he was deemed the funny one. sadly he couldn't make it last night.

The Lurker

My cousin Paul is the one who shows up to parties shows his face and leaves. So he is the lurker.

The puppy,

My cousin Carl the youngest of all the cousins is a hyper active maniac when he gets sugar into his system. So we called him the puppy.

The Roofie, The Crazy one.

That would be me, I have no idea about why I am the crazy one lol!

The Laid back one,

My cousin Gavin is the totally chillaxed and easy going one

The Absentee

This would be our cousin Rebecca who we have not seen for more than 10 years and have no idea where in the world she is.

The Fluff,

My sister is another sheep so we called her the fluff.

And that is another part of my Big Happy Family

Bonjour!

Yesterday I had a French Dinner party, with my 2 French friends from work, they are both doing an internship like me, Neither of them are the rude coworker I was talking about in the last post, The last thing I would want to do on a Saturday night is to spend time with her, things have improved at work with her but not dramatically she still gets on my nerves every now and again. This week I had a realization about why she ticks me off. Its because she reminds me of my Mom, The way she talks to me is like how my Mom talks to me when she's giving out to me,

Anyway back to the dinner party, We all agreed to make one dish each and bring it, I was in charge of the starter, Laura was in charge of the Main course and Chloe was in charge of the dessert.

For the Starter I made Fish Cakes, with a little (a lot of) assistance from my boyfriend, I think if I was makeing it by myself it would of been store bought garlic bread heated up in the oven lol.
not as cute as these lol

Laura made Burritos for the main course, I had never tried Burritos before, but it turns out they're pretty much the same as fajitas without the cheese and sour cream sauce,

Then for dessert Chloe bought Terramisu, She didn't have time to cook it.. But nevermind.

We were planning to have Tequila puffs at the dinner party, but quickly changed our mind when we found out tequila costs 24.99 Euro :O:O Crazy price, so instead we had wine and Smirnoff Ice and Rum. Lets say I woke up with a bit of a headache this morning lol.

We spent the whole night listening to French Rap, The only French Rapper I had ever heard was La Fouine!!!!!  They introduced me to a lot more,

I got home at about 2 and my boyfriend woke me up at 8 this morning ouch, He had to go to work. But all in all it was a good night. :)

Did you all have a good weekend? How much does Tequila normally cost anyway?

No ticket to get in

On Thursday Night I attended the Smurfit Business Ball, but thrust me the road there was a bumpy and troublesome one, Firstly we had the problem of No room at the inn and then the next problem emerged on the night, No ticket to get in,

On Thursday I was basically rushed off my feet,
  • Go to the Dry cleaning shop and collect my dress
  • Go Bra shoping
Not just for the sake of it, I needed a strapless bra to go with my dress...
  • Go to the hair salon

  • Get my make up done
  • Find the right shoes

  • Get my clothes for tomorrow packed.

    Then Panic!!!!
Just as we were about to leave my house I realized shit! I left my ticket in my boyfriends apartment... And my boyfriend was out with his friends in the city centre so I had to walk/run down the street in my long dress and in high heels, that i could barely walk in !
So I rushed up to the apartment and No Ticket to be seen! then i started frantically searching throwing books newspapers fliers everywhere. I still couldn't find it, and I left my phone in the car so I couldn't ring him

So in the end I went back to the car and rang up my boyfriend and asked/ accused him "Did you move my ticket?"Oops I think I threw it in the bin! Then I had a huge screaming fit... Whilst my mom tried to reassure me it doesn't matter come on.We were already running late I was suposed to be at the college before 5.30... and this was 5.15 and it takes a good 30 minutes to get to my college

Being worried about being late proved to be pointless as when I arrived there were still crowds of people waiting for the bus, and I met my friends and then they called 3 more seats on the bus. So we decided to go then the man said Tickets please!

OH SHIT! I explained to the man I had forgotten my ticket, I thought he would say OK go ahead... Wishful thinking, he said No we have a strict policy No Ticket No admission I'm sorry there is nothing I can do. Then more Panic and stress. The bus drove off without me...

Then I called my mom and told her. Then she came over and tried to talk to the man, and he even suggested to drive back to bray to collect it... Which obviously was impossible since my boyfriend had thrown it in the bin! She even asked could she buy another ticket for me, Bear in mind each ticket cost a whopping 70 euro. He still said no.

Then I had a stroke of extremely good luck, I noticed my cousin was working at the event. Hallelujah! then he came over and there was more conversing with the man. and then the man said OK don't tell anyone, Paul (my cousin) give her your ticket and I will look after you later...

THANKS BE TO GOD! i got on the next bus! Although I didn't get to sit with friends I was still delighted to be able to actually get on the bus.
    Here is my cousin Paul

Here's one from the night... I will tell more in my next post... when I get more photos from my friend and my camera.

    Happy Birthday my dear friend

Yesterday I was invited to my old secondary school friend Anna's Birthday Night out, We have known each other since we were 8 years old and we used to share everything in secondary school, She was the first person I told when I had my first kiss, She was the person I confided in that my father was having an affair, she was the person I confided in when me and my ex boyfriend were going through a difficult time. Likewise she confided in me with so much more like her engagement dilemma, boy dilemmas, family dilemmas and so on. Anyway she is one of my longest friends.
    Me and Anna (2007)
However when I started college our paths kind of diverged, I went down the academic route. She struggled to accomplish her dream of becoming a childminder or a Montessori teacher. After almost 4 years of being on the waiting list she has finally got her place. Congratulations!!

So last night was her 21st birthday celebration, I am 21 as well going to Night clubs, dancing, chasing after boys should be normal for me. But it isn't I haven't been "single" since 2007. I seem to float from one thing to  the next  Anyway as a result I rarely went to nightclubs I just wasn't that interested.
I just felt so weird going in there, having a boyfriend, not being able to engage in getting chatted up, just dancing with the girls. I felt like I was missing out on something. Anna has a boyfriend and she enjoyed herself immensely but her boyfriend was there dancing beside her..
    Anna and Stephen
My boyfriend was absent :( I hope I can bring him there sometime so I can enjoy the same feeling of being with someone at a nightclub.
